  • Description: NGC457 - the Owl Cluster in Cassiopeia, sometimes called the E.T. cluster. Also known as Herschel H VII-42. NGC457 covers about 13 arc minutes of sky, contains about 80 stars shining at a total magnitude of 6.4. The two brightest stars in the cluster are the "eyes" of the owl!
