Description

This emission nebula is located in Cygnus as part of the IC1318 complex approximately 5500 light years away.

The above image is the result of approximately 5 hours of H-Alpha imaging aimed at capturing the emission light of this nebula.

Imaging Session

  • Date: August 10 & 11, 2009
  • Target Coordinates (J2000) : RA = 20h 28m 17s, Dec = +39:57:30 (J2000)
  • Exposure: 14 frames x 20 minutes/frame unbinned at -15C
  • Camera: SBIG ST-10XME with AstroDon H-Alpha 6nm filter
  • Equipment: Takahashi FS-152 f/8 on Takahashi NJP mount
  • Guiding: external guidescope Takahashi FS-60C and Meade DSI Pro
  • Observatory control and automation software: CCD Commander V1.5.34, Maxim DL V4.56, FocusMax 3.4.1
  • Location: Theberge Remote Observatory, Robosky, Orangeville, Ontario
