NGC 869 & NGC 844 – Double Open Clusters in Perseus

  • Description: - 5th and 6th magnitude Open Clusters in the constellation Perseus, about 6700 light years away. Imaged from Bortle 9 Calgary AB Canada. To the higher left is smaller open cluster NGC 957 which is further away at 7200 light years, and to the lower left is a more spartan open cluster, Trumpler 2 which is closer at 2700 light years away.
