- Description: "Classic" framing of the Horsehead Nebula, also known as Barnard 33.
The nebula itself is that small patch of dark gas silhouetted against a bright strip of reddish
nebulosity known as IC434. The bright star is the left most star in the belt of Orion, bright at
magnitude 3.7. I added black thread across the lens of the scope to create diffraction spikes
which helped the star from bloating too much. Below this star, Zeta Orionis, is the reddish
nebula NGC2024. To the right of that is the blueish reflection nebula NGC2023. Below that is
another, fainter reflection nebula known as IC435.
