Comet Hyakutake March 1996
Comet Hyakutake March 1996
  • Description: Comet Hyakutake passing through the handle of the Big Dipper. This is more of a close-up with a telephoto lens, guided on the comet. It clearly shows a "disconnection event", where a chunk of the main comet splits off forming another mini-comet which slowly moves away from the main comet. The fuzzy streak above it is face-on galaxy Messier 101.
