- Description: Open Cluster Messier 46 up close! M46 contains about 100 stars and fills
this field at 27 arc minutes across. A fairly easy binocular object shining at magnitude 6.1. M47
is in the same binocular field. There is also a planetary nebula in the field, 10th magnitude
NGC2438 located at about 7 o'clock in this photo.
